Burn for Cowboy (Stampede Sizzlers) Page 8
“Why?”
A wicked light began to glow in his eyes. “It’s a surprise.” He leaned down and kissed her. She frowned suspiciously up at him. His last surprise had been the club. His hand flattened on her stomach and he pressed her back against the barn. “Look at you, little love. I like this.” His thumb caressed under her eye. “Ghost free.”
Meri turned and pressed her cheek into his hand. “Michael.”
“I’m going to marry you, little love.”
Her eyes opened and she stared at his chest. Her heart stopped and she felt butterflies explode in her stomach. She met his gaze. He lowered his head and slowly kissed her.
Her heart began to race as she wrapped her arms around his neck. His tongue was possessive as it brushed over hers, his hand easing her fly down. “Everyone else knows. I felt you should know too.”
Trust him to not even ask. Meri smiled as she felt him ease her jeans down. “I thought everything was consensual.”
“Only when what I’m about to do has the power to hurt you or scare you, little love.” He caught her legs and lifted her up so they were eye level.
“Ask.” She gasped as he thrust into her, the denim of his jeans abrading her thighs.
“Yes or no?”
“A cow is watching us.”
“We’ll eat him later. Yes or no, Meredith?”
She kissed him. When had she ever been able to say no to him? “I love you, Michael. Yes.”
“Michael can’t come to the phone right now,” he murmured in his low voice, his hips making her cry out with every thrust into her. “Please leave a message and he’ll get back to you when he fucking feels like it.”
The End
Bio
Jenna’s writing dreams truly began one summer on the air mattress of her childhood home. There she tackled her first romance: a truly wretched attempt at a medieval historical. Upon finishing the purple prose laden story of (in her own words) crap, Jenna decided that perhaps the historical genre wasn’t for her and she promptly began to write in a contemporary setting. If only the journey had been easy. She tackled category romances (and in her own words) felt like they were crap. She didn’t have the patience for romantic suspense. Really, she just wanted to get to writing the sex. (hint hint, Jenna) Her romantic comedies were so traumatic that she stopped writing until one day she got a phone call from a friend who said “We can totally write this.” The genre was erotic romance and it was (in her own words) like coming home. Residing in Calgary, Alberta, Jenna happily writes the naughty romances that make her mother sooooo comfortable.
Jenna loves to hear from her readers (unless you hate her stuff…then perhaps not) and she can be found procrastinating away at:
